Considering the benefits to the welcoming people of Al Haouz and the local tourist economy, I hope that these fantastic paragliding sites can be re-opened soon.

Paragliding in this area is a resource which I believe should be strongly encouraged, not banned as is currently the situation. You should listen to the people who know if you have concerns they can be addressed with a working group! thanks for your time

Like many Paragliding pilots, the opportunities to enjoy flying in interesting safe fling sites are driving factor in choosing holiday locations for myself and family. In choosing Morocco for a Paragliding holidy destination, my wife is now also holidaying at the same time in Morocco and will be joining an organised mountain biking holiday in the Atlas mountains at the same time. Will will then meet in Marrakech to spend time together. This type of holiday, requires confidence in the govenance of the country being visited in terms of clear information and support for the tourist industry.

Paragliding and hang-gliding pilots have been visiting Morocco for over 20years, and in recent years in ever increasing numbers. Gradually, the number of Moroccan pilots has also increased, to the extent that two years ago a federation for free flight was created under the department of sport at a governmental and national level. Several frequented sites including both Aguergour and Ait Ourir have even been officially recognised and sanctioned by the Civil Aviation Authority as official venues for paragliding.
Aguergour is arguably the best paragliding site in Morocco. It was even featured in XC mag's guide to the best sites in the world. Over recent years, hostels and hotels have grown and developed organically to the extent that many locals now rely on paragliding to feed their families. Without doubt, paragliding can be said to have had a hugely positive cultural and economic impact on this rural area of Morocco.
Despite the continued legality of flying at Aguergour and Ait Ourir, I understand that on several occasions pilots have been met with harassment by police and officials, and that on January 15th 3 visiting French pilots were apprehended in the landing field at Aguergour by police and were told to leave the region and not to fly at Aguergour. Meanwhile, other flying sites across Morocco have suffered no such impact.
I also understand that police action is being authorised by the Governor of Al Haouz who has, until now, provided no reason whatsoever for this action.

The situation has of course left visiting pilots and local pilots alike, feeling totally frustrated. The effect on local families is much worse. The devastating socio-economic impact of this unilateral local government action cannot be over-estimated. Paragliding represents something entirely positive to this region.

Please resume normal permissions for paragliding to carry on at Aguergour and Ait Ourir with immediate effect. Thank you.

I visit Morocco with Passion Paragliding and know that Toby Coloumbe helps the local community and encourages all his visitors to respect the culture of the area behave in a civilised manner at all times. I feel that as paragliders and tourists we help the local economy.

que dire: très beau site, agréable et sécurisant, deux séjours et de très beaux vols...d'excellents souvenirs et de belles images gravées en moi.

j'ai trouvé la structure bien rodée et organisée, je ne vois pas ou est le problème, si il fallait interdire des activités sportives à chaque fois qu'il se produit un accident, il ne resterait que la marche à pieds ....et encore
donc prions mes frère, le dieux du vent, les vents de l'espoir Marocain soufflera à nouveau à Aguergour

J'ai volé à Agergour en 2012, j'ai beaucoup apprécié l'accueil de la population et des commerçants locaux. J'y reviendrai certainement si le site est réouvert.
